Personal data and how it is used
Such data is collected, for example, via contact forms, newsletter registrations, e-mails or online enquiries. This may be at events or functions organised by us or via digital events or surveys. Other data comes from public directories or is obtained via internet searches.
All personal data collected by us is processed in accordance with the provisions of the applicable data protection laws. We collect and process personal data for the purposes described in this privacy policy and any additional purposes communicated in a specific individual case.
We usually collect the following data in order to be able to carry out our business activities:
- Contact details (name, company, job title, telephone number, mobile and e-mail)
- Other information provided to us in the course of contact (e. g. bank details)
We use the data for the provision of services and the delivery of products. The moment you provide us with your data, you give us your consent to use it.
We generally store this data for 12 months from the last contact with you.
This period may be longer if this is necessary for reasons of proof or to comply with legal, regulatory or contractual requirements or for technical reasons. E-mails in personal mailboxes and written correspondence are generally stored for at least ten years.
Legal basis: We have a legitimate interest in the processing of personal data corresponding to the stated purposes. Some processing is also necessary so that we can fulfil our contractual obligations towards you or our legal obligations (e. g. retention obligations).
The protection and respect of user privacy is built into our products and services that collect personal data. The highest level of security is already in place during implementation – all measures for data protection and the restriction of data use are activated. Privacy is always respected.
This website is subject to regular updates in order to continuously integrate any security updates.
In order to fulfil the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, it may be necessary for us to disclose personal data to the following categories of recipients: External service providers (such as accountants, banks, etc.), customers and business partners with whom we may need to coordinate our services, as well as authorities and courts.
We would like to point out that in the context of order fulfilment and other processing of
personal data, we use external IT service providers and cloud providers with servers in Switzerland.
We then use certain IT services and means of communication that may be associated with data security risks (e. g. e-mail, video conferencing). It is your responsibility to inform us if you require special security measures.
The aforementioned categories of recipients may in turn involve third parties, so that your data may also become accessible to them. Please note that we can restrict processing by certain third parties (e. g. IT providers), but not by other third parties (e. g. authorities, banks, etc.).
We process the personal data in our area of responsibility in Switzerland. However, we may transfer the personal data to recipients who in turn process the personal data in other countries, including those that do not guarantee a level of data protection comparable to Swiss law. As a rule, we will only transfer personal data to recipients who process personal data in other countries after prior consultation with you or if the transfer abroad is clear from the circumstances (for example, if we are commissioned to contact business partners or customers abroad).
We will only transfer personal data to recipients who process it in countries that do not guarantee a level of data protection comparable to Swiss law on the basis of your consent or by contractually obliging the recipient to comply with the applicable data protection law by means of standard contractual clauses, or if we can rely on an exception, namely if the disclosure is necessary to fulfil a contract or to enforce legal claims abroad, as well as in cases of overriding public interests.
We take appropriate precautions to protect your personal data from loss, unauthorised modification or unauthorised access by third parties. The transmission of information via e-mail or the Internet is always associated with risks, despite due care. Any transmission of data is at your own risk.
In principle, you have the rights to information, rectification, erasure, restriction, data portability, cancellation and objection. If you believe that the processing of your data violates data protection law or your data protection rights have been violated in any other way, you can lodge a complaint with us.
You can reach us at the following contact details: mail@harbourhouse.ch
We use Google Analytics to analyse website usage. The data obtained from this is used to optimise our website and advertising measures.
Google Analytics is provided to us by Google Ireland Limited (Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland). Google processes the website usage data on our behalf and is contractually obliged to take measures to ensure the security and confidentiality of the processed data.
The following data is recorded during your visit to the website
- Pages viewed
- Orders, including sales and products ordered
- The achievement of “website goals” (e. g. contact requests and newsletter registrations)
- Your behaviour on the pages (e. g. length of stay, clicks, scrolling behaviour)
- Your approximate location (country and city)
- Your IP address (in abbreviated form, so that no clear assignment is possible)
- Technical information such as browser, internet provider, end device and screen resolution
- Source of origin of your visit (i. e. via which website or advertising medium you came to us)
Personal data such as name, address or contact details are never transferred to Google Analytics.
The listed data is transferred to Google servers in the USA. We would like to point out that the same level of protection under data protection law cannot be guaranteed in the USA as within the EU.
Google Analytics stores cookies in your web browser for a period of two years since your last visit. These cookies contain a randomly generated user ID with which you can be recognised on future visits to the website.
The recorded data is stored together with the randomly generated user ID, which makes it possible to analyse pseudonymous user profiles. This user-related data is automatically deleted after 14 months. Other data remains stored in aggregated form indefinitely.
If you do not agree to the collection of data, you can prevent this by installing the browser add-on to deactivate Google Analytics or by rejecting cookies via our cookie settings dialogue.

This website uses CleverReach to send newsletters. The provider is CleverReach GmbH & Co. KG, Schafjückenweg 2, 26180 Rastede, Germany (hereinafter referred to as «CleverReach»). CleverReach is a service that can be used to organise and analyse the sending of newsletters. The data entered for the purpose of receiving the newsletter (e. g. email address) is stored on CleverReach’s servers in Germany or Ireland.
Newsletters sent with CleverReach make it possible to analyse the behaviour of newsletter recipients. Among other things, it is possible to analyse how many people have opened the newsletter message and how often which link in the newsletter was clicked on. Conversion tracking can also be used to analyse whether a predefined action (e. g. purchase of a product on this website) has taken place after clicking on the link in the newsletter. Further information on data analysis by CleverReach newsletters can be found at https://www.cleverreach.com/en-de/newsletter-tool/newsletter-reporting/.
The data processing takes place on the basis of your consent (Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a GDPR). You can revoke this consent at any time by unsubscribing from the newsletter. The legality of the data processing operations that have already taken place remains unaffected by the cancellation.
If you do not want CleverReach to analyse your data, you must unsubscribe from the newsletter. A corresponding link is provided in every newsletter message for this purpose.
The data stored by us for the purpose of subscribing to the newsletter will be stored by us or the newsletter service provider until you unsubscribe from the newsletter and deleted from the distribution list after you unsubscribe from the newsletter. Data stored by us for other purposes remains unaffected by this.
After you unsubscribe from the newsletter distribution list, your e-mail address may be stored by us or the newsletter service provider in a blacklist if this is necessary to prevent future mailings. The data from the blacklist will only be used for this purpose and will not be merged with other data. This serves both your and our interest in complying with the legal requirements when sending newsletters (legitimate interest within the meaning of Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR). Storage in the blacklist is not limited in time. You can object to the storage if your interests outweigh our legitimate interest.
For more information, please refer to CleverReach’s privacy policy at https://www.cleverreach.com/en-de/privacy-policy/.
We also advertise presences on the social networks listed below on our website. The integration takes place via a linked graphic of the respective network. The use of the linked graphic prevents a connection to the respective social network server from being automatically established when a website with a social media advert is called up in order to display a graphic of the respective network itself. Only by clicking on the corresponding graphic are users redirected to the service of the respective social network.
After forwarding, information is collected by the respective network. It cannot be ruled out that the data collected in this way will be processed in the USA.
This is initially data such as IP address, date, time and page visited. If users are logged into their user account of the respective network during this time, the network operator may be able to assign the information collected about the specific visit to the personal account. If users interact via a “Share” button of the respective network, this information can be stored in the personal user account and published if necessary. To prevent the collected information from being directly assigned to a user account, it is necessary to log out before clicking on the graphic. It is also possible to configure the respective user account accordingly.
